MISSION & VISION

Booce Teaches, LLC is a beacon of educational exploration founded in 2020 by Dr. Tanya Boucicaut. Its vision is to support learners through community building that affirms personhood and the pursuit of dreams, offering writing and wellness resources that invite ownership and thoughtful reflection of our stories told in authentic voices, along with content that engages various audiences.
Booce Teaches is an interdisciplinary writing and learning space grounded in rhetoric, storytelling, theology, creativity, and reflective practice.

THE SCHOLAR BEHIND BOOCE TEACHES

Dr. Tanya Boucicaut draws from over a decade of experience in higher education, writing, and editing. She holds a PhD in writing and rhetoric, an MFA in theatre, an MDiv, and a BA in English. Dr. Boucicaut created the inaugural theological writing course and writing assessment at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology and has supported hundreds of theological students and dozens of DMin students through courses, workshops, writing support, and academic mentorship. She also served as an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and currently works as an editor for a nationwide nonprofit organization. She is also a published author, playwright, TED-Ed educator, and guest co-editor of a special issue of the Journal of American Folklore.
